Portcentric operation The Logistics Terminal has continued to show rapid growth, with 2013 seeing throughput up 100% for the second consecutive year.
TLT was set up in January 2011 at the Port of Tilbury, and now deals with more than 12,000 TEU’s a year across the operation of container collection, restitution and devanning, storage, cross-docking and distribution.
The TLT site has grown to 150,000 sqft warehouse indoor storage, and 200,000 sqft of external hard standing, with more than 8 acres of space in all, where around 150 picks a day take place.

“We have now doubled in size each year since we began, and expect to do so again in 2014. The opening of London Gateway just a few miles away means that more goods are being imported through South Essex, which will continue to support our growth this year.”
TLT offload and load out more than 1000 TEU’s and vehicles a month, as well as cross docking another 500 vehicles. It mainly works with importers of plywood, timber and building products, as well as fruit importers and large UK and European manufacturers.
The Logistics Terminal’s location at the Port of Tilbury gives access to 30% of the UK’s customers within a two-hour drive. TLT can quickly offload containers and return them to the port, with secure bonded warehousing space available before working with distribution and haulage companies to ensure safe onward delivery to the end user.
